nidra

Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a type of yoga which only has one basic requirement: don’t actually fall asleep!

Sounds easy, right?

Yoga nidra is generally known in the West as guided meditation. It can be imagery or a body scan. Essentially, yoga nidra is designed to be done in a “nest”, sometimes on a yoga mat, with several props used to help support the body into full relaxation. Yoga nidra can be done any time of day, but for maximum benefit, people find the morning is the best time. People report feeling rejuvenated even after a poor night’s sleep.

Yogic sleep allows your brain to drop into deeper waves while still conscious, moving from beta (alert) to alpha (relaxing), then from theta (meditative) to even deeper delta (restorative rest). This allows the body to improve self-awareness, lead into deeper relaxation, unlock inner creativity, and even restore cells.

You’re one yogic nap away from a stress free day!
